As you navigate the various pages of this website, you will see the many varied ways in which Temple Israel enriches the lives of its congregants. All members of the Temple family benefit from the diverse services Temple Israel offers. How can each of us help Temple to thrive and grow? How can we ensure that Temple will always be there to provide the same level of services for our children and our children's children? What can we do today to show our support?

The answer to all of the questions above can be found in simple, small acts that each of us can perform. It doesn't take a lot of time or money; all that is required is the desire to help. Join Sisterhood or Brotherhood and see what these two vital organizations offer:

Join a committee:
Make your voice heard and help Temple with your insight and expertise. (Only a minimal amount of your time is required in most cases.) Here are just a few of the committees on which you may wish to serve (call the temple office at 516-280-3250 if you wish to volunteer):
* Adult Education
* Caring Committee
* Membership  
* Religious School  
* Ritual
* Social Action
* Youth
* Also, ensure your child gets the most out of his / her Religious School experience by becoming an active member of the TIJ PTA


Donate your time:
There are always numerous activities in which you can become involved. Why not assist at a Soup Kitchen or make deliveries to the needy in our community? How about lending a hand at a Temple activity? Consult the Events page on the Website or look at your Temple Bulletin for upcoming events. Your effort will be much appreciated, and you will feel great!

Make a financial donation:

Honor a milestone occasion by sponsoring an Oneg Shabbat:
Celebrate a birthday, anniversary or any special occasion by sponsoring a Friday night Oneg after Shabbat services. (Contact TIJ Sisterhood.)

Honor a special occasion with an entry in the Book of Life:
Commemorate the birthday or anniversary of yourself or a loved one. (Contact Nancy or Robert Kiss.)

Memorialize a loved one:
Temple offers Memorial & Yahrzeit Plaques, Leaves on the Tree of Life, and Windows in our Sanctuary as permanent memorials. (Contact The Temple Office at 516-280-3250)

Buy Supermarket Shopping Certificates:
Support Temple as you do your regular grocery shopping. Using certificates won't cost you a penny, and you can help TIJ. (Contact the Temple Office.)

Donate supplies:
Tools, both power and hand are needed by Temple to perform maintenance of facilities and property. (Contact the Temple Office at 516-280-3250)
